About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Columbus South is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Nursing Assistant plays a central role in providing compassionate patient care. This per diem position is based in Columbus, Ohio, and has 12-hour day shifts. Compensation is $22.00 per hour.

The hospital provides an extensive orientation program to support the transition into the setting. Strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may be eligible for 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year. Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience of 3 or more years.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers as needed and assist transporters with moving patients into and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
