About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Columbus - Vic Village is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate patient care and support patients throughout their recovery.

This is a per diem position with 12-hour shifts, with days and nights available. The schedule requires four 12-hour shifts per six-week period. Compensation is $22 per hour. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program, and demonstrated skills and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility by reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or at least three years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers as needed, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
