About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Nashville West is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants play a central role in providing compassionate care to patients. The role is per diem in Nashville, Tennessee, with 12-hour shifts and pay of $24.00 per hour, plus shift differentials for nights and weekends. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program and potential advancement to full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year, and have access to the employee assistance program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
