About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital-Macomb is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants play a central role in providing compassionate patient care. This per diem position is located in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, and uses 12-hour shifts. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program and notes that strong performance could lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for 401(k) based on reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience of at least 3 years.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
