Nursing Assistant Inpatient Rehab
About The Position
The Nursing Assistant provides patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role supports patients on a 17-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit treating a broad range of orthopedic, neurological, and complex medical or surgical conditions. Patients participate in 15 hours of therapy across the seven-day week, and nursing staff continue interventions practiced in therapy to support safe mobility and progress toward returning home. The position also involves transporting patients by wheelchair or stretcher, dispatching services, documenting care in the electronic medical record, providing in-person or remote-video observation for patients assessed as needing constant observation, and performing receptionist and clerical duties that help the nursing unit function efficiently. This is a full-time night-shift position at Farmington Hills Hospital, with 36 scheduled hours per week and every-third-weekend coverage.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
- Current CNA certification preferred.
