About The Position

At Saint Francis Hospital, the Nursing Assistant assists physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This is a part-time position for 24 hours on a 12-hour night shift, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Weekend and holiday work is scheduled as needed.

The organization describes a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with pay ranging from $18.05 to $25.60 per hour based on experience, skills, and education; the range may vary by location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
• A graduate of a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program; alternatively, in process of earning a BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed, with proof via college transcript; or significant nurse assistant/healthcare-related experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
• Transport patients.
• Collect specimens.
• Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms.
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
• Stay with at-risk patients as assigned to monitor patient safety.
