About The Position

At Saint Francis Hospital, the Nursing Assistant assists physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This part-time position is scheduled for 24 hours on the night shift, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with weekends and holidays worked as scheduled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proof of college transcript is required, or significant nurse assistant/healthcare-related experience is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program, or in process of earning a BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed.
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
• Transport patients.
• Collect specimens.
• Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms.
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
• As assigned, stay with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety.
