About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate patient care to people in vulnerable and often painful circumstances. The role is located in Richmond, Virginia, and is PRN/per diem, with 12-hour shifts and compensation of $25 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Clean instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
