About The Position
Nursing Assistants work closely with nurses to provide direct patient care, support patients with activities of daily living, and help prevent complications. The role is based onsite at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, New York. The schedule is a day shift consisting of 12-hour shifts three times per week, with every other weekend and holiday required. Before beginning work on the unit, the employee must complete one full week of mandatory orientation training, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- BLS certification; training will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording fluid intake and output, recording patient weight, and obtaining vital signs.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in a patient's condition to the RN.
- Reinforce patient education, including incentive spirometer use and fall prevention.
- Maintain a clean and organized bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
- Intentionally round on each patient every hour.
