About The Position

Miller's is proud to provide training for those interested in a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant free of charge. Each student is required to complete classroom training and clinical training. Upon completion, students must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide. See below for more details on training.

Requirements

• Must pass classroom tests with 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed).
• Must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide.
• Must complete 75 hours of supervised practicum.
• Must perform all required skills successfully during practicum.
• Must attend the first 16 hours of practicum with the class instructor.
• Must have all skills checklists (RCP's) signed off.
• Must submit completed RCP checklist at the completion of clinicals.
• Must complete and submit a daily "clinical sign-in record" with required information.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a TB test.
• Must pass a physical.
• Attendance to all classroom sessions is mandatory.
• Unsatisfactory performance or attendance issues may result in dismissal from the course/program.

Nice To Haves

• Students may be assigned to work with a preceptor who will assist in organization and time management.
• If hired and in good standing as an employee, Miller's Merry Manor will pay for the scheduled state test.
• If the student does not pass the 1st test, Miller's will pay for a second attempt.
• If not an employee, your application and certificate of completion will be given to you to schedule your own test at your own expense.

Responsibilities

• Complete 36-40 hours of classroom work.
• Pass all classroom tests with a score of 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed).
• Complete 75 hours of supervised practicum in a long-term care facility.
• Perform all required skills successfully during the practicum.
• Attend the first 16 hours of practicum with the class instructor.
• Demonstrate and have signed off all skills checklists (RCP's) not completed during the classroom phase.
• Submit completed RCP checklist at the completion of the clinicals.
• Complete and submit a daily "clinical sign-in record" with date, actual hours worked, student signature, and co-signature by a licensed supervisor.
• Pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical prior to starting the course.
• Attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
