About The Position

The Care Partner is a support care provider who works under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on promoting a positive patient experience by partnering with nurses, physicians, the healthcare team, and other providers, while assisting patients with activities of daily living and comfort measures. Care Partners provide safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware basic care, including assistance with daily living activities, ambulation, and vital signs. Depending on unit needs and approved training, they may perform additional technical skills such as phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and discontinuing Foley catheters. The role also includes clerical and unit-support work, such as retrieving data, maintaining supplies, and transporting supplies and patient medications. Care Partners work in a fast-paced environment, requiring multitasking, effective communication, organization, compassion, and the ability to take direction from multiple care providers.
