About The Position

Miller’s Health Systems is hiring a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care to patients during an assigned shift. The Charge Nurse follows each patient’s Comprehensive Care Plan and assists the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed. The role also supervises direct resident care personnel on the shift.

The position requires a nurse licensed in Indiana who can provide compassionate care, work effectively with a dedicated team, and demonstrate sound judgment, emotional stability, and professional conduct. The role includes exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass a physical examination for employment at the facility.
• Maintain a professional manner and appearance.
• Know nursing policies and procedures, medication administration, possible side effects, treatment administration, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and residents’ physical, psychological, social, and medical needs.
• Understand the organizational structure and duties of employees supervised by the Unit Manager.
• Demonstrate competence in supervision and leadership.
• Have a caring attitude and be observant.
• Foster and maintain good working relationships with other staff.
• Demonstrate good judgment and emotional stability.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Be able to work with a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on the assigned shift.
• Follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for patients.
• Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed.
• Supervise direct resident care personnel on the shift.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
