About The Position
The Nurse Tech works under the supervision of a Nurse and follows hospital policies and procedures to perform nursing care tasks and treatments for assigned patients. The role is part of the Resource Center, whose team members support the unit with the greatest need each day at Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals and care for a range of patient populations. Routine bedside care includes bathing and personal grooming, taking vital signs, wound care, ambulating patients, and assisting with bedpans or urinary devices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required within 90 days.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing care tasks and treatments for assigned patients under a Nurse’s supervision and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide routine bedside nursing care, including bathing and personal grooming, taking vital signs, wound care, and ambulating patients.
- Assist patients with bedpans or urinary devices.
- Support units at Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals according to daily staffing needs.
