About The Position

The Nurse Tech acts as a team member in delivering quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. The role performs basic skills according to department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. In coordination with and as directed by the RN or Provider, the Nurse Tech collects and reports information about patients’ and families’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating patients, wound care, catheterization, and serving as a safety attendant. The Nurse Tech ensures required documentation is completed accurately and on time.

This is a full-time night-shift position at Blodgett Hospital, scheduled for 36 hours per week from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every other weekend required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or work equivalent.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS), required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality patient care as a team member under the supervision of an RN or Provider.
• Perform basic skills according to department guidelines and communicate observations to the health care team.
• Collect and report information about patients’ and families’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs, as directed by an RN or Provider.
• Take vital signs and check blood sugars.
• Provide bed baths and assist patients with ambulation.
• Perform wound care and catheterization.
• Act as a safety attendant for patients.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
