About The Position

Under the direction of an RN or LPN, the Nurse Tech assists in individualized patient care to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness. The role works cooperatively with others as part of a team, recognizes the importance of group goals, and performs designated clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks essential to patient care.

This program is for nursing students. The Nurse Tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in the role. A student who leaves a nursing program for any reason can no longer work as a Nurse Tech.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Enrollment in an approved or accredited nursing program.
• Before employment, provide student transcripts showing completion of Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Remain in good standing with the school of nursing while employed as a Nurse Tech; students who leave their program for any reason can no longer serve in this role.
• Obtain BLS certification within one month of hire.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an EMT or paramedic, or previous patient care experience.
• Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Patient Care Tech (CPCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the state of practice.
