Nurse Residency Summer 2027- Neonatal ICU Track
About The Position
ChristianaCare is seeking senior nursing students, recent nursing graduates, or new RNs for their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Residency Program, starting July 19, 2027. This program is accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs. It is designed to support nurses with less than one year of experience, promoting professional growth, confidence, and clinical excellence. The program is a comprehensive 26-week curriculum combining classroom learning, simulation-based training, and preceptor-led clinical experiences in a Level III NICU. Participants will also engage in further professional development sessions during months 8, 10, and 12. This program is ideal for graduate nurses passionate about neonatal critical care, possessing strong critical thinking abilities, curiosity, and a commitment to learning.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program before June 2027.
- Hold or obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Have less than 12 months of RN experience by the program start date.
- Hold a Delaware RN license or Compact State RN license before the start date.
- Be willing and able to work all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Successfully pass the NCLEX prior to the program start date.
- Obtain Delaware RN licensure or Compact State RN licensure prior to the program start date.
- Sign a commitment agreement upon hire requiring two years of employment with ChristianaCare.
- Complete a minimum of 15 months on the original unit of hire.
- Submit a cover letter expressing interest in the Neonatal ICU Nurse Residency Program, addressed to Madison Valerio.
- Submit a current resume.
- Submit an unofficial nursing school transcript.
- Complete SkillSurvey Clinical References (two clinical instructors required).
- Complete HeyMilo Audio Interview Questions.
