About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for an evening-shift role at its Eastern Shore facility in Maryland. The Nurse Practitioner develops individual medical treatment plans and provides medical monitoring and medication management throughout clients’ treatment. The role provides medical care to stabilize patients and support their engagement in treatment; manages pharmacy, urine drug screen (UDS), medication, and laboratory orders; reviews and addresses test results; coordinates care with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams; documents medical interventions and directives; and maintains client appointment schedules. The position is based at Avenues Recovery Center at Eastern Shore, a 100-bed residential facility providing inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. The facility is newly renovated and situated on 7.74 acres of secluded property. Its multidisciplinary staff includes therapists, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, addictions counselors, and behavioral health technicians. Requirements

Unrestricted FNP, PMH-NP, or PA-C certification valid in Maryland.
Valid state medical license.
Federal DEA certification.
Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.

Responsibilities

Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for each client throughout treatment.
Provide medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; and review and address UDS and laboratory results.
Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
