About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its inpatient detox and residential treatment facility in Norfolk, Virginia. The role provides nursing care for clients in treatment, including admission assessments, shift duties, medication and pharmacy support, coordination with care teams, and accurate documentation. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum one-year diploma program completed after high school.
• Current, valid LPN licensure in Virginia.
• Strong critical-thinking, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• Excellent collaboration, multitasking, and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in the treatment industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete a comprehensive medical assessment for each client upon admission.
• Perform nursing shift duties, including screening, taking vitals, scheduling appointments and labs, and updating charts.
• Address pharmacy needs and prescription authorizations; dispense medications and maintain medication logs.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation, review charts, and log medications for each client.
