Nurse Practitioner - Evening Shift
About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care at its Eastern Shore residential substance use treatment facility. The role involves creating individualized medical treatment plans, monitoring clients, managing medications, and helping stabilize patients so they can fully participate in treatment. The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams, maintains thorough documentation, and manages client appointment schedules. The facility is a 100-bed residential center offering inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
Requirements
- Unrestricted FNP, PMH-NP, or PA-C certification valid in Maryland.
- Valid state medical license.
- Federal DEA certification.
- CPR certification.
- Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for clients throughout treatment.
- Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
- Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; and review and address UDS and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
- Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
