Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care (Valley Mall)
About The Position
Meritus Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide timely, compassionate care at its Valley Mall urgent care location. You will treat patients of all ages with everyday illnesses and minor injuries in a setting designed to make care accessible when patients need it. The Nurse Practitioner will assess and treat patients with non-emergency illnesses and injuries, including rashes, respiratory symptoms, minor musculoskeletal injuries, and mild-to-moderate asthma. Responsibilities include obtaining histories, performing examinations, ordering and interpreting appropriate tests, developing treatment plans, providing patient education, and determining when a higher level of care is needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current or eligible Maryland Nurse Practitioner licensure
- National board certification
Nice To Haves
- Experience caring for patients across the lifespan preferred
- Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Care for both adults and children
- Evaluate a wide range of urgent care concerns, from earaches and sore throats to sprains and strains
- Work alongside an established urgent care team
- Serve patients at a convenient location open seven days a week, including evenings
- Assess and treat patients with non-emergency illnesses and injuries, including rashes, respiratory symptoms, minor musculoskeletal injuries, and mild-to-moderate asthma
- Obtain histories
- Perform examinations
- Order and interpret appropriate tests
- Develop treatment plans
- Provide patient education
