About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner is a registered professional nurse with advanced training who provides comprehensive health care and health maintenance primarily, but not exclusively, in ambulatory settings to young adults, adults, and elderly patients. The role practices within the guidelines of the unit and hospital and in accordance with the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act. The position is responsible to the Director of Cancer Treatment Services for nursing standards and practice. Medical supervision is under the direction of the Raab Clinic Oncologist providing services to Carteret General Hospital patients.

Requirements

• Professional license and current registration to practice in North Carolina.
• Graduate of a registered Nurse Practitioner program.
• Master's degree in nursing.
• One full-time year of post-licensure clinical nurse practitioner experience.
• Approval of the North Carolina Boards of Medical Examiners and Nursing, or ability to obtain approval.
• A minimum of one year of clinical oncology nursing experience.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive health care and health maintenance to young adults, adults, and elderly patients, primarily in ambulatory settings.
• Practice within the guidelines of the unit and hospital and in accordance with the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
• Follow nursing standards and practice under the responsibility of the Director of Cancer Treatment Services.
• Work under the medical supervision of the Raab Clinic Oncologist.
