NURSE PRACTITIONER - SPECIALIST - FT
About The Position
The Nurse Practitioner formulates medical and nursing diagnoses and initiates therapy or referrals to appropriate healthcare providers. The role performs detailed and accurate health histories, reviews patient records, develops comprehensive medical and nursing status reports, and orders appropriate radiological and diagnostic studies based on the patient's condition and relevant characteristics. The Nurse Practitioner also performs comprehensive physician examinations and assessments, plans and initiates therapeutic programs within established protocols and institutional policies, and interprets patient data and laboratory and diagnostic test results. The role provides healthcare and health-promotion instructions and guidance to patients, families, and significant others. It also analyzes and staffs front-office and back-office personnel to efficiently and courteously support healthcare professionals and patients. The Nurse Practitioner demonstrates and encourages teamwork and exceptional patient and guest experiences while upholding and promoting patient safety and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Five to seven years of progressive healthcare management experience required, preferably in a medical practice or urgent care setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with guests.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- ACLS certification.

- Master's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience in a medical practice or urgent care setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or refer patients to appropriate healthcare providers.
- Perform detailed and accurate health histories, review patient records, and develop comprehensive medical and nursing status reports.
- Order radiological and diagnostic studies appropriate to the patient's condition and characteristics.
- Analyze and staff front-office and back-office personnel to efficiently and courteously meet the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
