About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for its Eastern Shore residential facility in Maryland. The facility provides inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The Nurse Practitioner develops individual medical care plans, provides medical monitoring and medication management, and supports patients’ stabilization and participation in treatment. The role coordinates care with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams and maintains timely, complete medical documentation and appointment schedules.
Requirements
- Unrestricted FNP, PMH-NP, or PA-C certification valid in Maryland.
- Valid state medical license.
- Federal DEA certification.
- Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaborative and multitasking skills.
- CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create individual medical care treatment plans for each client.
- Provide medical monitoring and medication management throughout treatment.
- Provide medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to engage in treatment.
- Update pharmacy orders and create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders.
- Review and address UDS and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
- Document medical interventions, consultations, and directives thoroughly.
- Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
