About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care at its Eastern Shore residential facility in Maryland. The facility provides inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation services and has a multidisciplinary team of therapists, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, addictions counselors, and behavioral health technicians.

The Nurse Practitioner creates individualized medical treatment plans and provides medical monitoring and medication management throughout each client’s treatment. The role includes supporting patient stabilization and engagement in treatment, managing pharmacy and laboratory-related orders, reviewing results, coordinating care with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams, maintaining detailed documentation, and completing client appointment schedules.

Requirements

• Unrestricted FNP, PMH-NP, or PA-C certification valid in Maryland.
• Valid state medical license.
• Federal DEA certification.
• Acute observational and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong collaborative and multitasking skills.
• CPR certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for each client throughout treatment.
• Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
• Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; and review and address UDS and laboratory results.
• Collaborate with extended medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
• Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
