The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive medical evaluations for applicants at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), assessing service eligibility and ensuring compliance with U.S. Armed Forces medical standards and applicable OSHA, Privacy Act, DoD, USMEPCOM, and healthcare requirements. The role reviews medical records, takes detailed histories, performs physical examinations, interprets diagnostic tests, assesses all body systems, identifies disqualifying conditions, and determines whether additional evaluations are needed. Abnormal findings are communicated to applicants and medical staff, and findings are documented accurately in the appropriate systems. The position involves on-site work at a MEPS location in Albany or Brooklyn, New York; Portland, Maine; or Springfield, Massachusetts. The role uses MHS Genesis for documentation and works with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and military personnel to support medical processing, quality, and effective patient care. Because this is a government contract position, applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be able to pass the DoD clearance process to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
