About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight at its detox and residential substance use disorder treatment facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. The role focuses on patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance in a structured, supportive, in-person clinical environment. The clinician will work with patients receiving detox and residential care, supporting stabilization and engagement in treatment. They will collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams and help maintain compliance with applicable state regulations and JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in Colorado.
- Valid Colorado medical license.
- Active DEA registration.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care.
- Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support their engagement in treatment.
- Order and review medications, laboratory tests, and urine drug screens (UDS).
- Document medical care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards.
- Manage daily and weekly patient schedules.
