About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PMHNP) for its Eastern Shore facility in Maryland, a 100-bed residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. The role provides medical care and monitoring to clients throughout treatment, helping stabilize patients so they can fully participate in recovery services. The position works in coordination with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams and maintains documentation and client appointment schedules.

Requirements

• Unrestricted FNP, PMH-NP, or PA-C certification valid in Maryland.
• Valid state medical license.
• Federal DEA certification.
• Acute observational and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and multitasking skills.
• CPR certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in substance use disorder, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create individual medical care treatment plans and provide medical monitoring and medication management for each client throughout treatment.
• Provide quality medical care to stabilize patients and enable them to fully engage in treatment.
• Update pharmacy orders; create UDS, medication, and laboratory orders; and review and address UDS and laboratory results.
• Collaborate with extended medical, clinical, and utilization review teams to coordinate care.
• Maintain thorough documentation of medical interventions, consultations, and directives.
• Complete daily and weekly client appointment schedules in a timely and efficient manner.
