About The Position

The APP will work closely with physicians and various allied health staff on a multi-disciplinary team by providing comprehensive assessments, ordering, and interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a diagnostic impression, developing, and implementing a treatment plan, monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, and prescription of pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapies. They will also provide primary care services including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients.

Requirements

• If Nurse Practitioner, must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working independently with patients in family practice, acute care or similar specialty.
• If Physician Assistant, bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working independently with patients in family practice, acute care or similar specialty.
• Current DEA certificate
• Minnesota Nurse Practitioner License (if NP)
• National certification from the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (if PA)
• State PA license required (if PA)
• Adjusts to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment.
• Must possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communications skills.
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles of administration in the changing healthcare environment.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
• Ability to handle/operate medical instruments required for physical exams, surgical procedures and computer hardware/software.

• Experience with program growth preferred.
