About The Position

CVS Health’s MinuteClinic is hiring a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide accessible, evidence-based primary and family care. The role supports holistic patient care and encourages patients to take an active role in their health and well-being. Providers receive clinical team support, collaboration, training, resources, and assessment and treatment-planning tools. Patient charting and follow-up are completed in the clinic during the shift. The position serves the Canfield, Niles, and Boardman locations and is full-time, with every-other-weekend work. Duties include assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing health problems; providing health counseling and disposition planning; conducting routine examinations and diagnostic tests; coordinating care with other healthcare professionals; and providing education on healthy lifestyle choices, pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices. The role also includes immunizations and injections, vaccine counseling, patient appointments, clinic opening and closing, inventory, patient follow-up, insurance verification, payment collection, and maintaining a clean clinic environment. The role requires a current Family Nurse Practitioner license in good standing, at least two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent, a Master’s-level Family Nurse Practitioner education, current national board certification, and state licensure to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Candidates must complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment, hold BLS certification, and pass a FIT test and wear a provided respirator when protocol requires. The role may require proficiency in speaking and writing additional languages, including Spanish, depending on the market.

Requirements

Active Family Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent.
Master’s degree-level Family Nurse Practitioner program education, current National Board Certification, and a state license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role.
Complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including CPR and operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Pass a FIT test and wear the provided respirator mask when protocol requires.
Depending on the market, ability to speak and write in additional languages, including Spanish.

Responsibilities

Provide evidence-based primary and family care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning.
Educate and treat patients regarding pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices.
Order and administer immunizations and injections, and provide evidence-based vaccine counseling and education to patients and parents.
Handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to support positive health outcomes.
Perform diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses.
Discuss healthy lifestyle choices with patients and encourage them to participate actively in their healthcare and well-being.
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to maintain a comprehensive plan of care.
Support health screenings, behavioral health and wellness, and chronic condition management.
Perform administrative duties, including opening and closing the clinic, managing inventory, following up with patients, verifying insurance, collecting payment, and maintaining a clean environment.
