Nurse Practitioner- NP/PA- Primary Care
About The Position
CVS Health’s MinuteClinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate to provide evidence-based primary and family care in a clinic-based setting. The role delivers in-person care and may include virtual visits conducted from the clinic during periods of lower onsite patient volume, provided virtual care does not delay or interfere with in-person care. Providers have clinical team support, collaborative resources, evidence-based guidelines, and tools for assessment and treatment planning, while practicing with autonomy and at the top of their license. The position is full-time with 32.5 anticipated weekly hours. Charting and follow-up are completed during the scheduled shift, with no work taken home.
Requirements
- For Nurse Practitioners: Master’s degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
- For Nurse Practitioners: Current national board certification from AANP or ANCC.
- For Nurse Practitioners: Active, unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
- For Physician Associates: Master of Science in Physician Assistant/Associate Studies, or a health-related master’s degree plus a Bachelor of Science in PA Studies.
- For Physician Associates: Current NCCPA certification.
- For Physician Associates: Active, unrestricted state PA/Physician Associate license, or eligibility to obtain one upon hire.
- Obtain and maintain multi-state licensure, based on business needs.
- Complete a DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment.
- Maintain active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pass a respirator FIT test.
- Be physically present at the assigned clinic.
- Provide holistic, evidence-based care, including counseling related to pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices (Nurse Practitioners).
- Be able to order and administer vaccines and injections, including COVID-19, influenza, TB testing, and Depo-Provera (Nurse Practitioners).
- Be able to perform duties involving prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Be able to perform Basic Life Support.
Nice To Haves
- One year of Nurse Practitioner experience; qualified new graduates may be considered.
- Prior Physician Associate experience; qualified new graduates may be considered.
- Bilingual proficiency, depending on market needs.
- Experience with the EPIC electronic health record.
- Prior MinuteClinic precepting rotation if the candidate has less than one year of provider experience.
- Experience conducting patient assessments and exercising sound clinical decision-making in a virtual care environment.
- Familiarity with digital health tools and virtual communication technologies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based primary and family care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Provide in-person and virtual visits from the clinic to support positive patient health outcomes.
- Perform diagnostic testing, preventive counseling, treatment of injuries and illnesses, and coordination of care with other healthcare professionals.
- Engage patients in wellness services, chronic disease management, and preventive health screenings.
- Complete clinic operations, including inventory management, clinic opening and closing, patient follow-up, insurance verification, and payment collection.
- Support a safe and efficient care environment through routine examinations and timely patient appointment management.
