About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-Certified is a licensed professional who functions independently while providing care under the supervision of the Medical Director. The position plans, implements, and evaluates treatment in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders, as applicable. The practitioner serves as a liaison among physicians, patients, and families, and collaborates with other health care professionals as appropriate. The role may include assisting with the orientation of new employees and participating in hospital or department committees. The practitioner must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide care appropriate to patients’ chronological age, developmental age, and/or psychosocial maturity.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a State Board of Nursing-approved master’s program.
• Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous experience is preferred.
