About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in Pre-Operative Services at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Orthopedic Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. This PRN role has approximate hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no weekends or holidays. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, communicates patient condition, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and helps coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing, obtained before the hire or job transfer date.
- One of the following credentials obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer: BLS Provider, or Instructor specializing in Basic Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate the patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
