About The Position

The Registered Nurse Pre Admission Testing role is based in Pre-Operative Services at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Orthopedic Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, observes and communicates patient conditions, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team. The position is part-time, day shift, scheduled 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m., with no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing, obtained before the hire or job transfer date.
• One of the following obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer: BLS Provider credential or instructor specialization in Basic Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
