About The Position
Blue River Surgery Center is seeking a Preoperative Screening RN for its ambulatory surgery center. Under the direction of the clinical preoperative screeners, the nurse helps ensure patients are prepared and cleared for surgery by collecting patient information, communicating with physician offices, completing medical histories, and assembling clinical records. Blue River Surgery Center is a new Surgery Ventures Group facility powered by HCA Healthcare, opening in early 2024. The state-of-the-art center will include five operating rooms and two specialty procedure rooms, with specialties including orthopedics, GI, podiatry, general surgery, and vascular surgery. It is located in South Kansas City near I-435 and Holmes.
Requirements
- RN licensure.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve voicemail messages and return calls promptly.
- Maintain adequate supplies for the office area.
- Call patients before surgery to collect preadmission information and provide appropriate preoperative instructions.
- Maintain departmental Excel spreadsheets tracking patient data collection and telephone communications.
- Compile patient charts to ensure required documentation is available, current, and compliant with regulations.
- Assist with collecting patient information, communicating with physician offices, and completing medical histories.
