Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatry

SENIOR CARE THERAPY•East Orange, NJ
•$130,000 - $175,000•Onsite

About The Position

NYNJ Psychiatric Associates is a group practice providing psychiatric services at assisted living and long-term care facilities throughout New York and New Jersey. The practice has 35 nurse practitioners supported by two psychiatrists. Experienced clinicians may work with relative autonomy, while new employees and graduates receive clinical support, rounding, and collaboration with senior clinical staff. Clinicians can contact the psychiatrists for guidance with cases and challenging patients, families, or facility staff. The role focuses on psychiatric medication management and supportive psychotherapy. The nurse practitioner conducts onsite initial evaluations and follow-up visits at assigned facilities, generally treating depression, anxiety, cognitive disorders, and dementia with behavioral issues. The position includes clinical and administrative support, streamlined documentation, real-time administrative assistance, and technology intended to improve workflow. The work involves collaboration with primary care physicians, other nurse practitioners and physician assistants, psychology, nursing staff, and families. The role is suited to a motivated, self-directed clinician who prefers working across facilities rather than in one office. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. The position offers some flexibility in hours and does not require formal on-call duties, overnight calls, or on-call rounding at present, though this may change. Reasonable availability to other team members for clinical questions is expected.
