Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatry

SENIOR CARE THERAPY•Lakewood Township, NJ
•$130,000 - $175,000•Onsite

About The Position

NYNJ Psychiatric Associates is a group practice providing psychiatric services in assisted living and long-term care facilities throughout New York and New Jersey. The team includes 35 nurse practitioners supported by two psychiatrists. Experienced clinicians may work with relative autonomy, while new employees and graduates receive clinical support, rounding, and collaboration with senior clinical staff. Clinicians can consult directly with the doctors for assistance with cases and challenging patient, family, or facility situations. The role focuses on psychiatric medication management and supportive psychotherapy. The Nurse Practitioner conducts initial evaluations and follow-up visits onsite at assigned facilities, generally treating depression, anxiety, cognitive disorders, and dementia with behavioral issues. The position includes clinical and administrative support, streamlined documentation, real-time administrative assistance, and technology intended to make workflows efficient. The clinician works as part of a team and interacts with primary care physicians, other NPs and PAs, psychology, nursing staff, and families. The work involves visiting facilities rather than remaining in one office. Formal call is not expected; reasonable availability to team members for clinical questions may be needed. Current expectations do not include on-call rounding or overnight phone calls, though this may change.
