Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatry

SENIOR CARE THERAPY•Yonkers, NY
•$130,000 - $175,000•Onsite

About The Position

NYNJ Psychiatric Associates is a growing group practice providing psychiatric services in assisted living and long-term care facilities throughout New York and New Jersey. The practice has been providing services for 14 years, has 35 nurse practitioners, and is supported by two psychiatrists. Experienced clinicians may work with relative autonomy when comfortable with patients and geriatric psychopharmacology. New employees and graduates receive extensive clinical support, including rounding and direct collaboration with senior clinical staff and psychiatrists. The role focuses on psychiatric medication management and supportive psychotherapy. The Nurse Practitioner completes initial evaluations and follow-up visits onsite at assigned facilities, generally treating depression, anxiety, cognitive disorders, and dementia with behavioral issues. The position includes clinical and administrative support, streamlined documentation, real-time administrative assistance, and technology intended to make workflows efficient. The role involves working as part of a team and interacting with primary care physicians, other NPs and PAs, psychology professionals, nursing staff, and families. This position may suit someone who is self-directed and prefers working across facilities rather than in the same office each day. Full-time opportunities are offered, with part-time opportunities also available and paid per patient. The role offers some flexibility in hours. Formal on-call duties are not expected, apart from reasonable availability to team members for clinical questions; there is currently no on-call rounding or overnight phone calls, although this may change. In-person services must be provided at assigned facilities, which may be up to 45 minutes away.
