Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatry

SENIOR CARE THERAPY•Long Beach, NY
•$130,000 - $175,000•Onsite

About The Position

NYNJ Psychiatric Associates is a psychiatric group practice providing services in assisted living and long-term care facilities throughout New York and New Jersey. The practice has been operating for 14 years and has a team of 35 nurse practitioners supported by two psychiatrists. Experienced clinicians may work with relative autonomy when comfortable with the patients and geriatric psychopharmacology. New employees and graduates receive clinical support, rounding, and direct collaboration with senior clinical staff and psychiatrists. Administrative support is also provided so clinicians can focus on patient care. The position focuses on psychiatric medication management and supportive psychotherapy. The Nurse Practitioner conducts initial evaluations and follow-up visits onsite at assigned facilities, generally treating depression, anxiety, cognitive disorders, and dementia with behavioral issues. The role involves working with primary care physicians, other nurse practitioners and physician assistants, psychology, nursing staff, and families. The practice uses streamlined documentation, real-time administrative support, and technology to support efficient workflows. The position is suited to a motivated, self-directed clinician who prefers working across facilities rather than in the same office each day. The position offers full-time and part-time opportunities. Full-time compensation is $130,000–$175,000, including bonus potential. Part-time roles are paid per patient; the posting estimates an efficient clinician can earn $115–$120 per hour. Hours offer some flexibility. Formal call is not expected, apart from reasonable availability to team members for clinical questions; there is currently no on-call rounding or overnight phone calls, though this may change.
