About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a motivated, flexible, and independent Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Division of Vascular Surgery. This full-time position involves the evaluation and management of both outpatients and inpatients referred for vascular surgery care. The role requires collaboration with faculty and other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), participation in the educational program for surgical residents and nursing staff, and a strong desire to learn. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.

Requirements

Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (for NP) or completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program (for PA).
Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NP).
Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NP).
Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PA).
Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NP).
Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PA).
Must be motivated, flexible, and independent.
Possess excellent clinical and communication skills.
Possess interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills.
Possess computer competence.
Must have an active desire to learn.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage outpatients and inpatients referred for vascular surgery care.
Collaborate with faculty and APPs from the Division of Vascular Surgery.
Participate in the educational program for surgical residents and nursing staff.
Demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and customer relation skills.
Utilize computer skills effectively.
Actively participate in the education of learners (students and new employees) through clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing, and skill training.
