Per Diem Nurse Practitioner for OTP Clinic
About The Position
BAART Treatment Centers is seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for its Visalia/Porterville, California OTP clinic. BAART provides individualized addiction treatment integrating pharmacotherapy, clinical counseling, recovery support, and medical services in medically supervised programs for adults. The role assists with admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment, obtaining histories and physical examinations, and documenting care and orders in the electronic medical record. In the Medical Director’s absence, the position authorizes and supervises dispensing of daily narcotic replacement therapy and other medication by medical staff. The clinician monitors patient dosages in coordination with the Program Physician/Medical Director, Treatment Center Director, counselors, and dosing nurses. Other related duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be licensed in the state of California.
- 1–2 years of addiction medicine/MAT experience.
- Satisfactory drug screen and background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist in admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment.
- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Document in the EMR and enter methadone dosing orders or write buprenorphine prescriptions.
- Authorize and supervise medical staff dispensing daily narcotic replacement therapy and other medication when the Medical Director is absent.
- Monitor patient dosages in conjunction with the Program Physician/Medical Director, Treatment Center Director, counselors, and dosing nurses.
- Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.
