Nurse Practitioner for OTP Clinic
About The Position
BAART Treatment Centers is hiring a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for its opioid treatment program in Visalia/Porterville, California. The clinic provides individualized, medically supervised addiction treatment integrating pharmacotherapy, clinical counseling, recovery support, and medical services in an outpatient setting. The clinician assists with admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment, obtaining histories and physical examinations, and documenting care in the electronic medical record. They enter methadone dosing orders or write buprenorphine prescriptions and may authorize and supervise dispensing of daily narcotic replacement therapy and other medication when the Medical Director is absent. Patient dosages are monitored in coordination with the Program Physician/Medical Director, Treatment Center Director, counselors, and dosing nurses. Other related duties may be assigned by the supervisor. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. BAART emphasizes dignified, respectful, high-quality patient care and aims to address the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of opioid use disorder to support long-term recovery and improved quality of life.
Requirements
- Must be licensed in the state of California.
- 1–2 years of addiction medicine/MAT experience.
- Satisfactory drug screen and background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist in admitting patients for methadone and buprenorphine treatment.
- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations.
- Document care in the EMR and enter methadone dosing orders or write buprenorphine prescriptions.
- Authorize and supervise dispensing of daily narcotic replacement therapy and other medication when the Medical Director is absent.
- Monitor patient dosages in conjunction with the Program Physician/Medical Director, Treatment Center Director, counselors, and dosing nurses.
- Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.
