About The Position
MercyOne Genesis is seeking a highly motivated, patient-centered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic. The provider will support a busy, growing orthopedic program by offering timely musculoskeletal care for acute injuries and urgent orthopedic concerns. The role involves managing a broad range of orthopedic conditions, collaborating with orthopedic surgeons and advanced practice providers, and contributing to an excellent patient experience. It is suited to a provider who is comfortable in a fast-paced setting, values autonomy, and is passionate about orthopedic care. The position offers competitive compensation of $147,401 and a $10,000 recruitment incentive. Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with acute orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries, including sprains, strains, fractures, and dislocations.
- Perform procedures such as splinting, casting, joint injections, reductions as appropriate, and wound care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory work.
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and specialty teams to coordinate ongoing care.
- Educate patients about diagnoses, treatment plans, activity restrictions, and preventive care.
- Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the EMR.
- Support efficient, patient-centered care in the walk-in clinic.
