Pediatric NP/PA - Urgent Care

KidMed•Stafford, VA
•$60 - $71•Onsite

About The Position

KidMed is hiring Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide pediatric urgent care in Stafford, Virginia. This provider-led practice was founded by Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians and emphasizes clinician autonomy, respect, clinical support, and a family-focused environment. The clinics are equipped and staffed to care for patients from birth through age 25, including patients with acute needs. Providers may perform procedures such as laceration repair and multilayer closure, incision and drainage of abscesses, reduction of finger or toe fractures, foreign-body removal, and ingrown toenail treatment. The clinical scope includes evaluation of fever in patients as young as 29 days, anaphylaxis, respiratory distress, cardiac concerns, chest and abdominal pain, vomiting, bloody stools, and genitourinary, neurologic, orthopedic, and dermatologic conditions. In-clinic services include suction, durable medical equipment, IV fluids, blood draws, injectable medications, and laboratory work. Providers receive support with direct admissions and specialist referrals for same- or next-day follow-up, and have close ties with local pediatric specialists. The role is available as full-time or part-time employment. Base pay starts at $65 per hour and may increase to $72 per hour based on relevant experience. A productivity-based incentive begins at 2.8 patients per hour, with additional earnings for exceeding that threshold; the posting estimates annual incentives add approximately 10–20% to base compensation. Weekend work earns a $5-per-hour shift differential, and additional differentials are offered for holiday coverage. Shifts are offered Monday through Thursday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. KidMed describes its practice as a supportive, collaborative, provider-led environment focused on clinical excellence and compassionate pediatric care. The company was founded 16 years ago by two Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians to provide children with convenient, less stressful care outside overcrowded emergency rooms.
