About The Position

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an onsite position in Misawa, Japan. This role involves delivering comprehensive primary care to an assigned patient panel, serving as the Primary Care Manager (PCM). The provider will be responsible for ensuring continuity of care, promoting preventative health, and maintaining the medical readiness of the patient population. Knowledge of military-specific healthcare requirements, policies, and procedures is essential. The position requires direct patient care, including medical evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, performing minor surgical procedures, providing women's health and pediatric care, and addressing behavioral health concerns. Additionally, the role supports the Air Force mission through medical readiness oversight, health assessments, deployment preparation, operational medical support, participation in medical reviews, adherence to standards, managing medical travel, providing fitness and performance guidance, and serving as a command consultant. Documentation and administration responsibilities include maintaining accurate electronic health records (EHR) in MHS GENESIS, documenting patient encounters, completing administrative tasks, participating in quality improvement activities, and complying with Air Force regulations. Teamwork and leadership involve mentoring support staff, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, participating in meetings, serving as a resource, communicating effectively, and contributing to clinic performance improvement initiatives. Additional responsibilities include participating in Continuing Medical Education (CME), serving on committees, and assisting with training and mentoring. The position is for a direct hire W2 employee only.

Requirements

Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree in nursing.
Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate.
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
Must have current certification of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
Maintenance of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is mandatory.
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Must have current certification of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Minimum of (1) year experience in an outpatient clinical setting within the last five (5) years.
U.S Citizenship.

For the Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner Certification is preferred (but is not limited) as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate.
An active security clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive primary care to an assigned patient panel in accordance with DHA-PI 6025.11.
Serve as the Primary Care Manager (PCM), the central point of contact for patients’ healthcare needs.
Ensure continuity of care, promote preventative health, and maintain the medical readiness of the patient population.
Be knowledgeable in military-specific healthcare requirements, policies, and procedures.
Provide comprehensive medical evaluations, including history and physical examinations, for patients of all ages.
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other medical conditions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory studies, X-rays, and other imaging procedures.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based guidelines.
Prescribe medications and other therapies, adhering to the Air Force Formulary and established protocols.
Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., wound care, skin biopsies, joint injections) as appropriate and within scope of practice.
Provide women’s health services, including routine gynecological exams and family planning counseling (if within scope of practice).
Provide pediatric care, including well-child exams, immunizations, and treatment of common childhood illnesses (if within scope of practice).
Address behavioral health concerns and provide referrals to mental health professionals as needed.
Coordinate patient care with specialist and other healthcare providers.
Support the Air Force mission by maintaining the health and deployability of service members.
Monitor and manage Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) metrics, including immunizations, Preventative Health Assessments (PHA), Mental Health Assessments (MHA), and dental readiness.
Conduct PHAs, pre-deployment screenings, and other readiness evaluations.
Diagnose, treat, and follow up on deployment-related conditions and injuries.
Provide clinical support during base exercises, contingency operations, and public health emergencies as needed.
Contribute to Medical Evaluation Boards (MEBs), Physical Evaluation Boards (PEBs), and related administrative processes.
Adhere to all Air Force medical standards, clinical protocols, and documentation requirements.
Initiate and process all required documentation for medical travel in accordance with Air Force and DHA policy.
Maintain knowledge of Air Force physical fitness standards and waiver policies, and counsel members on strategies to meet or maintain those requirements.
Serve as a trusted medical advisor to unit commanders on matters affecting the health, readiness, and operational capability of their personnel.
Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records in the Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS electronic Health Record (EHR).
Document all patient encounters, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions, in the EHR.
Complete all necessary administrative tasks, such as coding and billing documentation.
Participate in quality improvement activities and peer review.
Comply with all applicable Air Force regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical documentation.
Mentor medical technicians and other support staff.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, medical assistants, and specialists, to provide coordinated patient care.
Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
Serve as a resource for other healthcare providers on medical topics.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members on the healthcare team.
Participate in clinic performance improvement and process optimization initiatives.
Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities to maintain professional competence.
Serve on committees as assigned.
Assist with training and mentoring of medical students, residents, or other healthcare professionals.
Perform other duties as assigned by the COR and/or FRED within the scope of the position's general duties.
