Nurse Practitioner (NP)
About The Position
Turning Point is seeking a full-time Psych Certified Nurse Practitioner. This position is 40 hours per week, with one weekend per month, and the schedule may vary. The Nurse Practitioner works closely with the Medical Director, Clinical Staff, and Nursing Staff to provide comprehensive mental health assessments, determine diagnosis plans, prescribe treatments, and manage mental health care regimens in collaboration with the designated physician. Our continuum of care philosophy offers a vast range of services and benefits from inpatient hospitalization to outpatient programs with a “therapeutic community” which focuses on self and peer accountability. Our patients and medical team also benefit from a Multidisciplinary Clinical Team, Individualized Treatment Plans, and Patient-Focused Rehabilitation Programs.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS) with one of the accredited National Certification Organizations (ANCC, AANP).
- Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
- Certification with a National Certification Board.
- Five (5) years of experience in the area of psychiatric/chemical dependency nursing.
- Knowledge and mastery of DSM-5 and biopsychosocial assessment.
- This position is 40 hours per wk, one weekend per month, schedule may vary.
Responsibilities

- Manage mental health care regimens in collaboration with the designated physician.
