About The Position
This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to incarcerated individuals in a structured clinical setting. You will manage acute and chronic conditions, work closely with healthcare and facility staff, and contribute to quality patient care in a correctional environment.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher
- Primary Care (1+ years)
- Care Management (1+ years)
- 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following: Correctional Care, Correctional Medicine
- Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
- ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications: American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS), American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS), American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Provide sick-call coverage and same-day medical evaluations.
- Develop and monitor treatment plans.
- Educate patients regarding medications, disease management, and preventive healthcare.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the NextGen EMR system.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to ensure quality patient care.
