About The Position

The Nurse Manager leads nursing staff and oversees the overall operations of the assigned department. The role uses nursing leadership, delegation, and collaboration across the unit to support positive outcomes and experiences for patients and families. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure. The position is based at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital, a 226-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving the Yakima Valley, and is scheduled for 1.0 FTE, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtain one within five years from the initial date of hire. An RN with 15 or more years of service, or an internal candidate hired before January 1, 2021, may be considered to satisfy this requirement in lieu of an education agreement.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or a Multistate License endorsement (MLS).

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, or ARNP).
• Five years of clinical experience in a professional or technical role/function.
• Three years of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, and monitor standards of patient care and nursing practices.
• Ensure the availability and appropriate allocation of human and material resources.
• Support collaboration among nursing, physicians, and other disciplines to achieve desired patient care outcomes and department strategic plans.
• Coordinate the overall operations of assigned units and the provision of resources.
• Facilitate optimal and cost-efficient patient care delivery.
