About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care is excited to offer an opportunity for a nurse leader to join our team. We are looking for a full-time Nurse Manager for the Ambulatory Surgery Center team overseeing Pre-Operative, PACU and Post-Operative teams. The Nurse Manager will provide both managerial and clinical leadership, ensuring that all staff deliver safe clinical care and have the necessary education, methods, and resources to meet their performance goals. Interface with administrative and clinical nursing staff to provide clinical leadership in improving and maintaining the delivery of care processes for the ASC and to assume delegated responsibility for the implementation of daily operations for the ASC.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field is required. If Master’s degree in a related field, Baccalaureate in Nursing is required.
  • Must obtain an advanced degree in nursing, health care administration, or business administration within (5) years of beginning this position.
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa
  • Considerable (3-5 years) experience in leadership/management roles
  • Experience with unit operations including human resources, financial management, quality and regulatory standards
  • Experience in clinical practice required: minimum (3-5 years) multispecialty outpatient clinical setting
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications
  • Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body. If not currently certified, must seek certification in a role or specialty as soon as eligible to sit for an exam.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment

  • Demonstrate excellent conflict management skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations appropriately.
