About The Position
University of Iowa Health Care is offering an opportunity for a nurse leader to join their team. They are seeking a full-time Nurse Manager for the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team, overseeing Pre-Operative, PACU, and Post-Operative teams. The Nurse Manager will provide both managerial and clinical leadership, ensuring staff deliver safe clinical care and possess the necessary education, methods, and resources to achieve performance goals. This role involves interfacing with administrative and clinical nursing staff to provide clinical leadership in improving and maintaining care delivery processes for the ASC, and assuming delegated responsibility for the implementation of daily operations for the ASC.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field is required. If Master’s degree in a related field, Baccalaureate in Nursing is required.
- Must obtain an advanced degree in nursing, health care administration, or business administration within (5) years of beginning this position.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa
- Considerable (3-5 years) experience in leadership/management roles
- Experience with unit operations including human resources, financial management, quality and regulatory standards
- Experience in clinical practice required: minimum (3-5 years) multispecialty outpatient clinical setting
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient in computer software applications
- Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body. If not currently certified, must seek certification in a role or specialty as soon as eligible to sit for an exam.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment

Responsibilities
- Assume delegated responsibility in managing the day-to-day clinical operations of the ASC.
- Serve as a clinical expert in Perioperative nursing.

- Serve as a champion for process improvements.
- Provide clear, succinct, and reliable communication between management and ASC Staff.

- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating ASC Quality Management programs.
- Promote the adoption of Evidence Based Practices to improve clinical practice.
- Engage in appropriate continuous learning, including curricula focused upon development of leadership and management skills.
