Nurse Manager ICU
About The Position
The Nurse Manager manages the daily operations of the ICU department. Responsibilities include managing resources, process improvement activities, staffing and scheduling, and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and timely patient care. The role monitors departmental financial performance and ensures expenses and productivity align with workload and fiscal targets. The Nurse Manager leads departmental activities and monitors care to meet quality and customer service goals, maintains two-way communication with staff, and leads or participates in multidisciplinary and interdepartmental initiatives to improve care, services, and efficiencies. The role may require assisting with patient care on the nursing unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in Kentucky.
- Three years of job-related experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited institution.
- Five or more years of experience as a leader in the designated area.
- Recent experience and/or certification in the specialty.
